Schools Minister impressed with Plymouth Primary Schools
Schools Minister Nick Gibb MP met with Heads of Plymouth Primary Schools on Thursday afternoon at Chaddlewood Primary School in a meeting jointly organised by local MP Gary Streeter and Pete Nash of the Plymouth Association of Primary Headteachers (PAPH).
The Plymouth primary headteachers set out the work that they have been doing in the last two years to collaborate better together as 64 primary schools in Plymouth and to see standards rise throughout all schools. The Minister was impressed by what he had heard and has asked Mr Streeter to follow up with more information in writing to include any specific requests that the Association might have of Government assistance.
“I was very impressed with the presentation made by local primary headteachers,” said Gary Streeter, “and I know the Minister was equally as impressed. Plymouth primary schools are breaking new ground in the extent of their cooperation through a Community Interest Company and the government wants to hear more about this and to do what it can to support this excellent initiative.”
