Supporting our world class Armed Forces

This region has long been a place of excellence for our armed forces, with our Naval Base and Dockyard being centre stage. We are also the home of 3 Commando Royal Marines who make us all so proud.

The Government has recently announced that more units of Royal Marines will be heading for this region, to be based in accommodation more fitting for our elite forces than the current ancient bases. I will continue to work hard to secure this commitment to our military personnel and campaign for all of the new Type 26 frigates to be based in Devonport.

I have also shown a close interest in MKC Heroes which offers special support for the children of our servicemen and women whilst deployed.
