Visiting schools in my constituency is one of the highlights of my job as an MP.
Meeting young people from across Plympton, Plymstock, Ivybridge and the surrounding villages always reminds me of the great potential we have in the next generation and the importance of investing in them and working hard to secure a positive future for them.
Last Friday I met with a group of lively Sixth Formers at Coombe Dean School in Plymstock. I operate an ‘anything goes’ policy in these situations so faced a range of questions on topics such as student fees and trans-gender issues. The students highlighted the grasp they have on both World, UK and local headlines and were keen to know what I thought about the current issues and opportunities we are facing at the moment.
I always leave inspired by the vibrancy and life these young people have and encouraged by the hope and ambition they show for the future.
