I am sure I am not the only one to have noticed the increasing prevalence of incidents on the A38 between South Brent and Manadon in Plymouth in recent months.
Over the years I have raised the issue of safety on this stretch of road a number of times. I have always been advised that nothing specific needed to be done as the rate of incidents and accidents is no higher than other similar roads.
However, in light of what seems to have been an increase in the number of incidents in the last three months, I have recently written to Highways England requesting that they review this stretch of road again to see if it now fits criteria for road safety intervention.
As a result of my letter, I have received the attached response from Highways England and have arranged to meet with them to discuss the situation at the end of the month.
